Nikhil currently has openings for private students, either in-person or via webcam. His teaching primarily focuses on classical guitar performance, but he can also provide tutoring in the areas of music theory and music history.
Nikhil’s teaching focuses on developing complete, well-rounded, and passionate musicians. He places great emphasis on technical development, an understanding of the historical background and theoretical structure of music, and a cultivation of expression and performing confidence. Nikhil also caters his teaching to the needs and goals of the student, ensuring that lessons with him are meaningful, productive, and foster a love for music.
Nikhil’s teaching experience encompasses a variety of age groups and skills, ranging from beginning students to advanced players. He is the recipient of two degrees in classical guitar performance: a Master of Music degree from San Francisco Conservatory, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music. He will be pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at New England Conservatory, beginning in the fall of 2026. At both Eastman and SF Conservatory, Nikhil took courses in guitar pedagogy and guitar history, as well as studies in music theory and music history, helping shape his approach to teaching and musicianship.
